Frequently Asked Questions
CauseVox
How do I make my own fundraising page?
Does CauseVox accept online donations from outside the US?
Yes. As long as the donation is made with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, or Diners Club.
What is the 7.1% tipping fee?
Donors can add 7.1% to their donation to help Global Mamas cover the cost of the transaction fees. CauseVox charges 4.25% per transaction and the credit card processing is 2.9% + $.30 per transaction. We understand that this percentage is high, but we shopped around several crowdfunding sites and most charge a similar percentage. We felt the CauseVox crowdfunding platform is the best option for the Building Prosperity campaign.
What should I write in my appeal?
If Global Mamas doesn't raise all $500,000 by December 31st, will they not receive any of the money they raised?
Yes. Global Mamas will receive all of the money that they raise, even if they do not raise $500,000 by December 31, 2013.

Offline Donations
Can I send in contributions in the form of checks?
Absolutely! You can have donors write a check out directly to Global Mamas. If you prefer to write Global Mamas one check for all donations received, that's fine, too, but we won't be able to give your donors a receipt or count their donation as tax-deductible. If your donors would like a tax-deductible receipt from Global Mamas, they will need to write a check directly to Global Mamas.
We'll need you to fill out a Donation Collection Form for every donation received in the form of a check. Once we receive the form, we will send the donors who send in a check an electronic receipt - so please be sure to collect the donors' email addresses.
We will include all donations received on your CauseVox fundraising page shortly after it reaches our US office. Please make sure that checks are made out to Global Mamas and send them to:
Global Mamas
2205 NE California Street, Suite 110
Minneapolis, MN 55418
Can I send in cash donations that I’ve collected?
For safety reasons, we ask that you do not mail in any cash donations, instead, please send in a money order or check made payable to Global Mamas. If your donors would like a tax-deductible receipt from Global Mamas, they write a check directly to Global Mamas or donate online through your personal CauseVox page.
Will donors receive a donation receipt?
If you mail in the Donation Collection Form or if donors mail in a donation (see form here), Global Mamas will e-mail a receipt to donors. This receipt is for donors’ records and proof that they have made a tax-deductible donation.
If a donor makes a cash donation at my fundraising event, do I have to fill out a donation form for their contribution?
Yes. Even though their donation is not tax-deductible, we ask that you fill out a donation form in its entirety. You can ensure your donors that we will not send junk mail to their home address, as we will only use the addresses to send thank you notes to those who donate $50 or more.
Will offline donations be attributed to my own fundraising campaign?
Yes. Shortly after receiving the donations you mail in, Global Mamas will attribute the total amount we received to your personal fundraising page. So, for example, let's say you've raised $25 online through your personal CauseVox page and another $275 at an event named "The Rhythm is Ghana Get You". After we receive the money in the mail, your personal CauseVox fundraising total will bump up to $300 and will show a $275 donation from "The Rhythm is Ghana Get You".
